Originating in Indo-China, these compact gesneriads, affectionately referred to as "pets", have blooms reminiscent of wild violets and symmetrical growing habits. We find that they grow very well with low to medium light levels, cooler temperatures, and a minimum of water and fertilizer. Requirements for artificial lighting would be around 8 to 10 hours. They will do well on the bottom shelf of "light stands" and near the end of the fluorescent light tubes. Use a light, porous potting mix, and grow them in small pots! Let the soil become fairly dry between waterings. They also do very well when "wick watered." Feed plants regularly, using a well balanced fertilizer, at 1/4 tsp. per gallon of water, with every watering.

	barbata - $7.00 Shiny, light green reniform leaves, and palest orchid, pansy shaped blossoms, with a yellow throat.
	Begonifolia - $7.00 Quilted and shiny leaves are dark green with a discriminating hair pattern.
	flaccida - $7.00 Distinctly violet blooms, waver above medium green foliage, that's just hairy enough to give this variety a distinguished silvery look.

	forrestii - $7.00 Velvety and hairy, medium green foliage, forms a perfect rosette. Pale lavender blossoms have yellow on the throat, that is framed in white. This one is such a "Cutie."
PHOTO PENDING	kerrii - $7.00 Cordate, quilted leaves are velvety green, and attractively covered with white hairs. Flowers with dainty upper petals are creamy yellow and lower petals are white.
	Minor - $7.00 Shiny, bright green, quilted leaves, shape perfectly beneath the cute, wild violet blooms. A must have for your collection!
	Momo - $7.00 Center leaves shimmer with white hair, while the outer leaves are slightly shiny with quilting and ovate shape. Blooms are pale, orchid-violet pansies.

	rosettifolia - $7.00 Shiny, ovate, forest green leaves with lighter veining and distinctive hair. The sweet little white flowers, sport five lower lobes and a short upper throat. One of our most popular varieties!
